Join educator extraordinaire Julie Shusterman (who also leads Kitsap Forest Adventure Camp) for a special time in the forest and around Chico Creek to see the salmon returning "home" to spawn. Every year during November seagoing salmon migrate from their feeding grounds to the rivers and streams of their birth. Chico Creek is the largest chum salmon run in Kitsap County.
Hike down to the Kitsap Forest Theater for stories and fun.
Explore Chico Creek and see the returning salmon swimming upstream to lay their eggs where they were born.
Learn about the life cycle of the salmon, and other inhabitants of the forest. Learn about the Suquamish Tribe's efforts to protect this salmon habitat.
Wear hiking shoes and dress for the weather. This is an outdoor adventure and it could be raining!
